The cache of glamorous homes and posh hotels at Beaver Creek hide a skier's mountain. With second-home owners spending little time here, The Beav is the ticket on a powder day. Even days after a storm, there's untracked to be had in the glades on Grouse Mountain's Falcon Park. And on bluebird days, there's nothing better to blow out the cobwebs than a screamer off the Centennial chair on pure Colorado corduroy.

Adrenaline:
From the top of Birds of Prey Express, break right for the Explosive Shack backcountry gate. Head south for the wide-open turns of Bald Spot. Be wary of hidden rocks.

Accumulation:
Watch for low-pressure systems forming in the Pacific Northwest. They can mean big storms with huge amounts of light, dry snow.

Après:
Mingle at the Coyote Cafe, sip a 90 Shilling, and pad your stomach with the best nachos in town.
