  • Java Joints Hit the pushcart on the deck of the Giant Steps Lodge for a latté or espresso.
  • Dining The Double Black Diamond Steak House serves up the delicious steak dinner for which the West is famous. The Bump & Grind in The Mall next to the Giant Steps Lodge is a good option for breakfast, lunch or a casual dinner.
  • Lodging The independently owned Cedar Breaks Lodge (888-282-3327, cedarbreakslodge.com) is Brian Head's largest full-service mountain hotel, with 90 rooms and suites ($89-$289 per night). Numerous independent agencies act as property managers for on-mountain condos. Contact the Brian Head Chamber of Commerce (435-677-2810, brianheadchamber.com) for more information. Get more bang for your buck by booking a midweek package that includes two nights in Las Vegas, two nights at the resort and a two-day lift pass, starting at $155 per person (800-388-3669; brianhead.com).
  • Après-Ski The only on-mountain watering hole is the Pinnacle Breaks Club in the Cedar Breaks Lodge. Memberships are available and are free to guests of the Lodge.
  • Locals Tip Inner Harmony Yoga Retreat, just 3 miles from the slopes, offers all-inclusive week-long retreats from Dec. 4 through mid-April ($725-$1,400). Lodging, food, shuttles to the hill, a minimum of 5 hours of yoga a day, snowshoeing and cross-country equipment are included.
  • Getting There Brian Head is about 3.5 hours north of Las Vegas. Exit 75 off I-15 (Parowan), and then head 14 miles southeast to the resort.
