Breckenridge Ski Resort

2,208 skiable acres; 3,398 vertical feet; summit elevation 12,998 feet; 300 annual inches; 146 trails; 27 lifts, including eight high-speed (two six-packs, six quads). Tickets: $65; four-of-six day pass $260.

The slopeside Great Divide Lodge is the resort's only full-service hotel ($75—$350 per night; 888-906-5698), or try Beaver Run Resort at the base of the Beaver Run lift ($90—$1,800 per night; 800-525-2253). For a bit of Breckenridge's Victorian charm, bed down at one of the B&Bs in town. The Hunt Placer Inn is two minutes from the slopes ($149—$218 per night; 800-472-1430).

For white linen and candlelight, try Café Alpine (970-453-8218) or the Blue River Bistro (970-453-6974). Casual dining is the gig at Downstairs at Eric's (970-453-1401) and Fatty's (970-453-9802). Head to Giampietro (970-453-3838) for the town's best pizza and to Mountain Flying Fish (970-453-1502) for sushi.

Mi Casa (970-453-2071) makes a fine margarita. Hit The Maggie (970-453-5170) for daily live music and après-ski specials. Downstairs at Eric's is the place to soak in the scene.

Don't Miss

Clint's (970-453-2990) for a caffeine jolt before hitting the slopes—it's where the locals go.
