Change has barreled through this Western town like a stampede, spawning chichi sushi bars, billion-dollar homes and an insatiable appetite for high-end lodging. Stay in Teton Village to catch first tram-or in town to snag a saddle at the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. You can't go wrong. Here are our picks for Jackson's best beds:

Luxe/Slopeside >The Four Seasons Jackson Hole From in-room bootfittings to Suunto ski watches on loan, the Four Seasons spoils skiers rotten. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The 124-room hotel at the base of the mountain is Teton Village's newest, sporting an East-meets-West style with rooms done in natural wood and stone, beds dressed in down and sliding louvered shades in place of gauzy curtains. The marble bathrooms have steam showers and soaking tubs, but that shouldn't keep you from the outdoor hot springs-inspired jacuzzis, where attendants circle with heated towels and robes, peppermint face cloths, and complimentary hot cocoa and s'mores. $550-$4,000; 307-732-5000; fourseasons.com/jacksonhole

Western Ambience >Granite Ridge Cabins Harboring a fantasy of stowing away in a log cabin in an old Western town? Granite Ridge takes the dream even further: These two-bedroom, 2,000-square-foot cabins are slopeside, so you can make first tram every morning. Built with thick, blond logs of lodgepole pine, each cabin is kitted out with a stone fireplace, wood floors, TVs and DVD players. A full kitchen has all the mod-cons, but it's the deck and the private outdoor hot tub-peering out over the valley floor and the lower slopes-that will occupy most of your off-slope time. $610-$1,080; 800-443-8613; jhresortlodging.com

Romance >Alpine House This 22-room timber and pine B&B two blocks from town square is a small-inn option with big ambience. The 15 newest rooms in the south wing have fireplaces or wood stoves, piles of pillows on the king-size beds and a bathroom stocked with local spa products. Breakfast is made from scratch, with a choice of two hot entrees complementing a buffet. After a ski day, retreat to the inn's Viking Bar, where hors d'oeuvres and a selective wine list ready the palate for dinner on the town. $125-$245; 800-753-1421; alpinehouse.com

Family >Teton Mountain Lodge This Village property is part condo, part hotel: Order room service from the Cascade Grille or stop at West Side Market on the way in from town and whip up dinner in your room's kitchen. The lodge, 200 feet from the tram, has 129 rustic Western units, but the best deals are the 50 lodge rooms: Each has a king-size bed, a sleeper sofa, a fireplace and a bathroom with a soaking tub. Families can book adjoining lodge rooms-kids on one side, parents on the other-for extra space and privacy. $249-$2,200; 307-734-7111; tetonlodge.com
