Eating In Aspen

Brand New: Tucked into a restored Victorian and named after a former resident with a rowdy rep, LuLu Wilson draws a crowd for chef Shane Coffey's city-fine fare (he's from Alias and WD-50 in NYC). Try his Colorado lamb with house-made lamb sausages; 970-920-1893.

Local Fave: Cache Cache chef Chris Lanter turns out authentic bistro fare, such as veal osso buco, foie gras terrine and steak frites. Inside info: The bar menu rocks, and you don't need a reservation; 970-925-3835.

Wine List: Montagna's Master Sommelier Richard Betts recently added winemaker to his list of credentials. His South Australian Betts & Scholl Grenache pairs perfectly with the house-made charcuterie; 970-920-6330.

On-Mountain: A patrol shack turned Euro-style cafe, Cloud Nine Bistro teeters atop Aspen Highlands. Warm up with chef Andreas Fischbacher's pheasant sausages stuffed with Gruyère; 970-544-3063.

Après-ski: Stop by 39 Degrees at the Sky Hotel, where everyone from ski instructors to the visiting "it crowd sips Botox martinis (Stoli Raspberry, cranberry juice and Red Bull) and nibbles mini chile rellenos in the mod but cozy lounge, by the pool or in the hot tub; 970-925-6760.
