New Ptarmigan Lift: A new Leitner Poma Fixed-grip Quad will replace the current Ptarmigan lift at Lake Louise Mountain Resort. Providing a more comfortable ride for guests, this lift is also a top-drive system, which
will significantly reduce power consumption. Replacement of the lift will adhere to strict environmental guidelines, which includes soil salvaging during construction, area access via existing trails only, the majority of work to be completed by hand, and grizzly bear protocol will be adhered to, including a monitoring process and education for staff and construction crew. Lake Louise Mountain Resort is working closely with Parks Canada throughout the lift replacement process.

Lake Louise Mountain Resort is traditionally one of the first ski resorts to open in North America, with dependable early season snowfall. The 2008/09 winter season is scheduled to start on Saturday, November 8, 2008.

What's Hot at Lake Louise Mountain Resort:

#1 Scenery: Lake Louise Mountain Resort is consistently named #1 for scenery. It's 360 degrees of natural splendour. Even the locals still stop just to stare!

Ski History: Skiers started down these peaks in the early 1900's. Come and discover the birthplace of skiing in the Canadian Rockies!

Powder Bowls: Lake Louise Mountain Resort's Powder Bowls offer up 2500 acres of wide open terrain, and features areas such as 'The Ultimate Steeps' and 'The Wall'.

Lake Louise Ski and Snowboard School: The Lake Louise Ski and Snowboard School offers a wide variety of lessons and programs for skiers and riders of all levels. Get acquainted with the sport with the "Discover" package, or head out with one of the Resort's top pros and conquer expert terrain in the "Ultimate Steeps" camp. We have something for every level of skier or rider.

Après Atmosphere Located in the Lodge of the Ten Peaks, the popular Powder Keg Lounge features ice cold Kokanee, hot appetizers, and the best atmosphere for après ski. Head out in the sunshine to the Kokanee Kabin deck, which provides spectacular views of the ski area and nearby mountain peaks.

Lake Louise Mountain Resort Welcomes the World

Lake Louise Mountain Resort will once again welcome the world for the Bombardier Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup. The Men's races will take place November 29 and 30, 2008, and the Ladies will race December 5-7, 2008.

Other Recent Resort Upgrades:

Enhanced Snowmaking: More Snow, Light Snow! We are continuing our ongoing commitment to provide a high quality snow surface each season.

Lodge of the Ten Peaks Re-Design: Grab It And Go! Guests can enjoy our easy 'grab and go' healthy snacks and meals area, featuring fresh deli sandwiches, hot and hearty soups, chili, fruit, and salads.

Temple Lodge Lightens Up Enhanced lighting and opening the space are a couple of the initiatives that have modernized this space.
