Snowbird, Utah is the last resort open in Utah—they'll be open weekends until Memorial Day. And they're reporting five inches in the past 48 hours. Here's a shot taken on May 4 on Snowbird's Mount Baldy.

This winter has already been one of Utah's longest seasons on record, with Snowbird originally planning to stay open through Memorial Day weekend. But today, Snowbird announced that the season will be even longer—they'll stay open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through June 20, conditions and weather permitting.

The extension would mark 199 days of skiing and riding for the 2009/10 season, two days short of Snowbird’s record 2004/05 season when the resort stayed open for 201 days until July 4. As of May 20, Snowbird’s mid-mountain base stands at 117 inches with forecasts calling for flurries throughout the weekend.Snowbird has received 588 inches of snowfall this season, exceeding the resort’s annual average by 88 inches.

"For the third year in a row, Snowbird has surpassed its annual average in snowfall with some incredible spring storms,” said President Bob Bonar. “The coverage on the mountain is remarkable for this time of year, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer high-quality skiing and riding well into June.”

Three lifts are currently running: the Tram, Little Cloud and Mineral Basin Express. And it's for a reduced ticket price of $62.

Father’s Day Weekend activities include Brewfest on June 19, with 12 local breweries serving 3-ounce samples of Utah beer for $1 along with live music and food. Summer activities also kick off on June 19 (weather permitting), including the new Ropes Course, Wasatch Mining Company Gemstone Mine, Peruvian Chairlift and Tunnel, Alpine Slide, four-station climbing wall, ZipRider, Bungy Trampoline, Mechanical Bull and Inflatables. Horseback and ATV tours are tentatively scheduled to begin Fourth of July weekend, conditions permitting.
