There’s a reason locals refer to their beloved Whistler as “Swillster.” It mainly has to do with their hearty, healthy attitude toward drink—and the 13 different après options right at the base of the mountain. The Garibaldi Lift Company, known as the GLC, is the place to kick off your Langes and slug a frothy brew. Located at the base of the Whistler Village gondola, it’s got a sprawling patio, a fireplace to warm your wet gear, and most importantly a big-ass bar.
Three Things You Need to Know:
Try the Garibaldi Lift Company’s Sex Cheese, four different cheeses—asiago, provolone, cambozola, and goat—all melted together with a lemon-garlic white wine sauce and flatbread. It’s not as gross as the name implies.
Check out the concert calendar. The GLC pulls nationally touring acts like Spearhead and Medeski, Martin, and Wood.
GLC jam-packed? Merlin’s, Longhorn, and Dusty’s all serve beer too.

Regionally inspired and creatively prepared tapas are the stars at this fun restaurant featuring an open kitchen and a buzzing cocktail bar in Whistler Village’s Summit Lodge & Spa. Mingle over grilled chorizo with honey-onion relish, Pacific salmon “lollipops” with papaya-mango salsa and two-toned frites with chipotle aioli. Perfect pair: fruit-infused martinis with sticky toffee pudding or espresso crème brulee.
