Squaw Valley is home to some of the best skiing in the country, but when the snow melts there’s just as much opportunity for adventure. This summer, they’ve added to the list of opportunities by opening the hill to mountain bikers, paintballers, zip liners, and disc golfers alike. Take the cable car up to the High Camp at Squaw Valley to experience breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe while enjoying your favorite activities.
Squaw Valley Mountain Biking
For the first time in nine years, Squaw Valley will offer cyclists the opportunity to ride on downhill and cross-country trails. They’ve also incorporated freeride elements into the mountain, and are boasting the most vertical of any mountain bike park in Tahoe.
A paintballing arena is opening at High Camp mid-summer. If you don’t have your own gear, there will be paintball guns, masks, and safety equipment available to rent. They also have special availability for groups, so if you’ve always dreamed of having a paintball fight for your birthday party this is your chance.
The new 18-hole disc golf course will give enthusiasts another place to hone their disc throwing skills. Visitors who don’t have their own disks will be able to rent or buy one on the hill.
Squaw Valley is also home to an ice rink that offers disco ice skating, a pick-up hockey night, and private lessons. Swimming, tennis, dining, and hiking are also all available at 8,200 feet. Depending on the snow melt conditions, all activities should be open mid-summer, including a new zip line the resort is planning on installing.
