Solitude Spa, part of the Teton Mountain Lodge, is named after one of Grand Teton National Park’s most beautiful high alpine lakes, Lake Solitude. The whole spa is inspired by the restorative and healing powers of water. Each treatment that the spa offers plays off of this idea. Try the weekend warrior poultice ritual—an energizing turmeric, mint, and lemongrass massage that has its roots in Thai history as restoring warriors’ bodies after a long day of battle. Even though you aren’t fighting an army, the massage is still wonderful. In addition a wide variety of special massages, there are pools and hot tubs to relax in. If you have never been to a spa before, don’t worry. The website has a helpful section called “how to spa.” It tells you what to wear, when to arrive for your appointment, and anything else you may want to know. If you still have questions, feel free to call and ask away. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about all the services they offer.
