Ski East: The East's Second 10

Compared to the West, where wide-open spaces are connected by seemingly endless ribbons of asphalt, Eastern ski country is downright compact. There are so many resorts, all relatively close to one another, that it's easy to ski a lot of them each season. Some spots are better for family skiing (like first place in Family Programs, Smugglers' Notch), others for hard-charging groups of friends who ski nonstop all day (like first place in terrain, Mad River Glen). That's why we give you the East's Second 10. If you haven't visited all of the top spots selected by our readers, pick one and make some turns on new terrain this season. You'll probably discover that even 20 isn't too many.
