Traveler: A Long, Cheap Season

Last season, a number of ski areas around the country, most notably Colorado's Winter Park, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin, offered season passes at prices so reduced¿some as low as $199¿that five days of skiing would pay for the cost of the pass. After those areas sold more than 100,000 passes, it was apparent that they had hit on a good idea. Buying a pass even made sense for out-of-towners. Many more areas are offering similar deals this year. Unfortunately, season-pass prices are usually announced at the last minute, and the time window in which they can be purchased is brief. The pass prices from the Vermont and Idaho areas listed below have been confirmed. As more are announced, including those for the Colorado Front Range areas, we'll post them on our website, SkiNet, at www.skinet.com/travel.
