Expect to leave Killington totally exhausted. Six peaks provide “a week’s worth of trails,” says one reader. And leg-burning terrain (the bumps of Outer Limits, the steeps of Ovation) earn a no. 4 ranking for Terrain Variety, no. 8 for Challenge. “Love the attention to glades,” one reader adds, pointing out that the Killington trail crew cleans up fallen debris. And though all that serious skiing may make you want to curl up by a fire and pass out, you can’t. Not at the resort with the no. 1–ranked Nightlife in the East. “If you like a party atmosphere, this is the place,” one reader says. It does take a hit for Value (no. 27) and Service (22). Still, there may be no better place in the East to gather friends and let loose for a weekend or so. Just be sure to take the day off from work on Monday to catch up on sleep. —G.M.
