Crested Butte, CO June 4, 2002 (CBMR Release)--Edward Callaway, co-owner, President and CEO of Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) has announced that John Norton, currently COO for Aspen Skiing Company (ASC), has been hired by CBMR as President and CEO, effective June 17, 2002. ,Norton, the former Vice President of Marketing and Sales for CBMR, leftCrested Butte in 1991 to join ASC where he has served in variouscapacities for the past eleven years. Since 1998 John has held the positionof Chief Operating Officer for ASC. Edward Callaway has been appointedChairman of the Board of CBMR, turning the day-to-day operations of theresort over to Norton. "John has the brightest marketing mind in the business," said Callaway. "Hehas been extensively involved in every aspect of running a ski resort,including operations, ski school, marketing, communications and sales. Weare fortunate to have an individual as talented as John Norton join ourcompany to help Crested Butte achieve its significant potential."
