KENT HARVEY
AGE: 37
HOMETOWN: Carbondale, Colorado
TITLE: Cinematographer
HEIGHT: 5'10"
WEIGHT: 170 lbs.
YEARS IN THE BUSINESS: 13
SPECIALTY: Harvey often skis the same slopes as the athletes, but he carries $35,000 worth of camera equipment in a 40-pound pack. Tough? "It scares the hell out of me," he says. "Normally I ski without poles and carry my tripod. But in Alaska, that's not an option."
BIG BREAK: Harvey went the traditional Hollywood route, spending six years assisting cameramen on everything from Nova documentaries to Dumb and Dumber. He started shooting ski flicks in 1998.
["Check out the cameraman's gear."]
TOOLBOX: Harvey bangs around his "totally bomber" Arriflex Super 16 SRII movie camera, but he obsessively cares for his lenses, sending them to Los Angeles every year for overhauls.
