From Hockey Thug to Heli Stud

When Kevin Quinn played pro hockey, he kept his ski habit a secret from coaches who feared he'd tear an ACL or become a toddy-sipping softy. Eventually, he abandoned the rink for the slopes and, in 1997, founded a heli-ski operation that now flies pro skiers, film crews, and schlepps like the rest of us into Alaska's Chugach Mountains. A member of the Squaw Valley Freeride Team, Quinn, 36, just can't seem to shake his puck dreams. When we found him pounding cans of Old Mil behind the War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, we knew we had to intervene.

In the BEFORE picture above, he's got the Hanson brothers-style glasses (minus athletic tape), high-tech skin protectant (i.e., beer dribbling down his chin), double-fisting techniques, a practice jersey from his days with the Columbus Chill AA Hockey Team, Levi's 501s held up by Tackla hockey belt (not shown), United British Knights shoes, and Old Milwaukee (only the best).
