Salt Lake City, UT, May 31, 2001--(AP) The Salt Lake Organizing Committee has raised $113,702 from its initial Internet auction of Olympic tickets _ seven times the face value of the tickets.

One pair of front-row seats to the men's figure skating free competition went for $11,100.

All three sets of women's free skate tickets went for $10,100. Face value for all of the figure skating tickets was $750 a pair.

SLOC has decided to keep putting prime tickets up for bid indefinitely. Nine pairs of tickets were added to the auction last Thursday. Another 17 pair hit the Internet on Tuesday.

``Our original plan was likely to take a break after the first 100 tickets and to continue in the fall,'' said SLOC Chief Operating Officer Fraser Bullock.

``Given the response we've received, we will continue to add events and will continue this auction for the foreseeable future ... to the extent we have front-row, best seats in the house still available,'' he said.

False bids were placed Monday afternoon, apparently by a teen-age girl who submitted offers in rapid succession for tickets to freestyle aerials, men's figure skating, U.S.-Russia men's hockey and ski jumping. On Tuesday, her mother canceled the bids, which totaled $16,000.
