The new motto for resorts this season just might be All for One, One for All, as four of the biggest names in the sport have banded together to offer a unique, unified ski pass. The new Mountain Collective pass, working with Liftopia, offers eight days of skiing at Alta, Aspen/Snowmass, Jackson Hole, and Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows for $349.

According to the company: "We do not plan to shut these businesses down, but rather intend to sell them to a buyer at a full and fair value. Ten years ago this spring, Doug Coombs, one of American skiing’s most admired figures, died in a fall in one of the countless steep chutes at La Grave, France, the wild ski area where he lived with his wife, Emily, and their two-year-old son, David. Coombs, along with Chad VanderHam, died while working as mountain guides, the career Coombs had carved out after a career in ski films and extreme skiing competitions.

Bruce McTavish Glimpsed the dawning of skiing’s drone era last season at Canada’s Big White resort. Vail Resorts announced, this week, that it will invest $13 million in its newest Midwest ski area: Wilmot Mountain, which Vail Resorts acquired in January. Wilmot, 65 miles north of Chicago, was the 13th ski area added to Vail Resorts’ empire.
After crashing during Saturday’s super-G, the Olympic medalist sustained multiple knee fractures provoking her to end her season.
Lindsey Vonn announced, Wednesday, that she’s ending her ski season early after injuring her left knee in a crash during a super-G race in Andorra, Europe, on Saturday.
Initial x-rays showed that Vonn had a hairline fracture on the tibial plateau. Not posing a significant threat, she competed in the super combined the next day. She then had further x-rays revealed two additional fractures along her knee, so she decided to hang up her race skis for the season.
