Golfers invariably test their mettle on the Mountain Ridge or Betsie Valley courses, or participate in one of Crystal's 65 golf-school sessions. Golfing families can sign up for a free family clinic offered every Tuesday and Thursday.
Those out to burn some calories grab a mountain bike and head for Screaming Eagle. Others practice their strokes on the resort's clay courts, swim in the pool, or spend reflective time on a hike through Michigan Legacy Art Park. Or enjoy the nearby National Lakeshore Park in Empire, where you can climb the legendary Sleeping Bear sand dunes.
Enroll the kids in one of many programs that feature everything from frogging and orienteering to tubing floats down the Lower Platte River. Then try your own water adventure. Crystal Lake Adventure Sports can guide you on a kayak trip down the Betsie River, or rent you a sailboat or sailboard at its shop in Beulah on pristine Crystal Lake.
Any evening is perfect for a walk out to the lighthouse in Frankfort to watch the sun set over Lake Michigan. And if you're lucky enough to be at Crystal on a Friday night, mellow out at a concert in the Art Park amphitheater.
