Olympic Valley, CA - (News Release) - Squaw Valley USA will be hosting the annual Community Benefit Day on Sunday January 22, 2006. This event offers guests the chance to pre-purchase $35 donation vouchers that are valid for an adult lift ticket and ice skating session on Benefit Day. Proceeds from the online sale of the donation vouchers will benefit the Excellence in Education Foundation and the Tahoe Forest Hospital Foundation.

"We at Squaw Valley believe that it is important to contribute to these local organizations, expressed Nancy Wendt, the President of Squaw Valley Ski Corporation. "And what better way to give back to the community than spending a day on the mountain?

To participate in this local fundraiser, guests must pre-purchase donation will-call vouchers for $35 each, online at www.squaw.com. Each voucher is valid for one adult all day lift ticket and a two-hour ice skating session at the Olympic Ice Pavilion on January 22, 2006.

The tickets will be held under the name which they were ordered with online. On Sunday, December 22, come to Squaw Valley USA and head to the base area ticket portals ('D' Booth) to pick up your tickets.  These tickets are only valid on Sunday, January 22, 2006 and are non-refundable and non-changeable, even in the event of inclement weather or operations changes.  Only 1,000 vouchers are available, for pre-purchase online only.

Local students (Tahoe, Truckee, Incline Village), ages 13-18, with proper ID can register for $10 (one time fee) and receive $5 all day lift tickets on Sundays, snowdays (when school is cancelled), holidays, and "in service" days throughout the season. We will be registering for this program on benefit day.

Since 1991, Squaw Valley has donated over $180,000 to local education programs through the Excellence in Education Program. The Excellence in Education Foundation is responsible for organizing a number of fundraising efforts to benefit the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Each year the foundation raises in excess of $100,000 which is used for endowments and grants for the school district.

The Tahoe Forest Hospital is currently undergoing an ambitious upgrade to their facilities which includes the addition of two new operating rooms, the construction of a 47,000 square foot new West Wing, housing an updated Medical/Surgical Unit, ICU, a Women and Family Center and a new Outpatient Medical Center and the remodel of 20,000 square feet of the existing facility.

Squaw Valley USA is also committed to supporting the Tahoe Forest Hospital. With the help of many of our guests we have been able to donate thousands of dollars towards the hospital's expansion goals.
