NEWRY, ME (News Release - Nov. 14, 2007) - In addition to dependable snow, Sunday River is offering a host of events Thanksgiving weekend. Many Bethel area eateries, including Legends Restaurant in the Grand Summit Resort Hotel, will feature full Thanksgiving dinners and Sunday River will offer as much variety as a holiday spread with an array of events throughout the weekend.

Skiers and snowboarders will have the opportunity to try out the latest gear from over a dozen manufacturers at Sunday River's annual Demo Days on Nov. 24 and 25. "Demo Days are a great way to make an informed decision before specific skis and board models start selling out," said Greg Luetje of Sunday River Sports.

This year's list of brand names will include Volkl, Technica, Atomic, and Option Snowboards among many others. A credit card deposit and a $5 daily fee will allow guests to experiment with unlimited models.

For the terrain park skiing and riding crowd, the Sunday Sessions TBD Open Rail Jam will take place on Saturday, Nov. 24. Male and female skiers and riders will compete in a jam session set to get underway at 11:30 a.m. Registration is $10 and will take place inside the Sunday Sessions snowboard shop from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Competitors under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to complete registration.

"Sunday Sessions loves to be a part of freestyle events since our shop is really geared toward the freestyle rider, and we're excited to have taken on a sponsorship role this year," said Laura Russell, Sunday Sessions Manager.

The Shipyard Brew Haus at White Cap Lodge is offering a full weekend of entertainment. On Friday, Nov. 23 will be DJ Bob, mixing the hits from 9 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. On Saturday night, listeners will be able to catch fan favorite Respect Due - a Tribute to Bob Marley and the Wailers. A blend of rock, jazz, blues & reggae professionals, this band is known for their hopping repertoire of classic reggae hits. Doors open at 9 p.m. and there is a $5 cover charge. Respect Due is a 21 and over show.

Ski and Stay packages for Thanksgiving weekend are available from $85 per person, per night. Lodging package details and a complete events calendar can be found at www.sundayriver.com.
