Killington, VT, April 27--Vermont's famous "green mountains" aren't all green yet. A spring storm dropped two-to-four inches of snow on Killington Ski Resort Thursday. Down east, the storm also dusted Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine with an inch.

Killington's Superstar Quad services six trails for three miles of upper intermediate to advanced terrain. Due to a powerful snowmaking system the Superstar run boasts a ten-foot base, and the other trails claim four feet.

No closing date has yet been set, and Killington has plenty of action for late-season skiers.

High noon this Sat., April 29, skiers can enter Killington's annual pond skimming costume event for five dollars a try, but once may be enough. Next Monday, the first 300 people to buy a lift ticket can enter a fun slalom race starting a 9:00 am. Grand prize is a lift ticket voucher good any day next season.

Sunday River also scored an inch of new snow, and the ski resort boasts 12 trails covering six miles of intermediate-to-advanced terrain. There's still a few days to enjoy this snow before the May 1st closing date. This weekend, Sunday River is offering free skiing, a live band, and BBQ at the Barker Base Lodge on Sun. April 30 and Mon. May 1.
