Back to Back Storms Hit Telluride

posted: 01/01/2000

TELLURIDE, Colo. March 5, 2004 (NR)-With eight inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and over three feet in the past week, Telluride is on track for a record winter. Eighty-three inches of snow fell the month of February, the snowiest February on record. It's still snowing in Telluride with three inches expected to fall today. Telluride is reporting a top mountain base of 80 inches.

"This is the best winter Telluride has experienced in several years," said Jeff Proteau, vice president of mountain operations for the Telluride Ski Resort. "This February was our third snowiest month in our history. March is off to an incredible start with snow falling four out of the past five days."

With the abundance of snow, the entire mountain is in excellent shape. The conditions in Prospect Bowl, 733 acres of terrain nearly doubling the size of the Telluride Mountain, are incredible.

Skiers and riders can take advantage of some excellent skiing conditions by booking the Spring Saver Package. Stay four nights and ski three days starting at $345 per person (based on double occupancy in a standard hotel, taxes included, subject to availability.) For reservations, call 866-287-5016 or book a customized package at For information on snow conditions, call 970-728-7425 or visit
