Telluride, Colo.— July starts with a bang in Telluride over the 4th of July weekend with the annual Fireman's BBQ & Fireworks event featuring a barbeque buffet in Town Park. The month also includes the annual Doo-Dah concert and special performances by the Colorado Ballet. 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION AND FIREMAN'S BBQ AND FIREWORKS
This annual event features a great barbeque buffet in Town Park for locals and visitors alike. The BBQ begins just after the 4th of July Parade at 1pm.
HARDROCK HUNDRED MILE ENDURANCE RUN
The 12th running of the Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run starts at 6:00 a.m. on July 8th in Silverton, Colorado and concludes on July 10th . In 2005, the course will be run counterclockwise - a big loop through the San Juan Mountains of beautiful southwest Colorado: Silverton - Sherman (Lake City) - Ouray - Telluride - Ophir - Silverton, 100 miles, 33,000' total elevation gain, 11,186' average elevation, low point 7,680' at Ouray, high point 14,048' at Handies Peak. Locals wanted to celebrate a weekend with no festivals and nothing to do - so this is it - the infamous "Nothing Festival from July 21-24. FULL TILT IN TELLURIDE — MOUNTAIN STATES CUP
Mountain Village will host the Full Tilt in Telluride, part of the Mountain States Cup series July 30-31. This event will feature cross country and downhill mountain bike racing on the rugged terrain of the Telluride Ski Resort. Visit website for race details at www.cyclesyndicate.com
KOTO DOO-DAH CONCERT
The very popular annual Doo-Dah concert sponsored by local radio station KOTO will feature Jackson Browne with special guest star Pat McDonald on July 23. The concert raises funds for Telluride's only community radio station. Tickets are on sale at www.koto.org or by calling 970.728.4334.
Colorado Ballet's first visit to Telluride will be July 28, 29 and 30! Performances on July 28 and 29 will take place at the Palm Theater in Telluride and a Sunday matinee, July 30, takes place at the Telluride Conference Center in Mountain Village. Tickets are available at www.tellurideticket.com.
ROTARY SUPERWINCH 4X4 RALLY
Limited to FIFTY 4x4s, this event includes something for everyone on July 29-31. The infamous Black Bear Backwards is the highlight of the tour featuring a ride through fields of wildflowers, hikes, photo ops, mining tours and awesome views. All the tours are led by experienced locals with a wealth of information on the history of the area. Proceeds go toward local Telluride youth, scholarships and Rotary International projects. Trail runs start Saturday at 7am with a BBQ in Town Park at 6pm. Sunday trail runs start at 7am. The entry fee is $200 for 2 people and 1 4x4, and includes 2 BBQ dinner tickets, 2 t-shirts, 2 caps, a dash plaque and a goodie bag.
