I'd like to see one of these, but shot by a real winter filmmaker - and not some posing piece of tripe about their athletes - something real - show the crappy jobs - show the couch surfers - show the struggle - but again, not focusing on a bunch of so called "pros."
VRI's in an interesting phase right now, they presold a large share of their season passes last spring to prop up the massive revenue they'd lost over the season, so right now, they must be scrambling to find something, anything, to prop up this quarter's earnings.
As snow is the only real news, I'm expecting a huge surge of "We have all the snow, huge amounts, tons and tons!" messaging from their PR staff in about 5-4-3-2....
This kid is great, go watch the vid of him on skiracing.com, finally, men's alpine has a cool, modest, intelligent successor to Rahlves. A real ambassador with character and integrity.
I like this program each year but think it needs a refresh. Maybe more transparency in the voting. Or specify certain levels in certain categories, like cost of Apres or tickets or something.
Here's the thing, Powder is Powder and no longer does resort reviews that aren't commercial, Ski Press is dead, Skiing changes its ranking formats every 6 minutes, so you are the only game in town. But, not every skier out there is a "price is no object" skier. Nor a family skier. Nor a ripper, or a senior etc....
If I'm exactly in your reader demo, this works, because 4-10 grand for a trip is nothing. But I'm not in your reader demo. And I'm not in Skiing's, although I'm so glad the marmot crap is gone. I'm just an average 44 year old with 2 kids who loves ski trips but needs to consider price, snow, terrain for all levels, some nightlife, getting to the slopes without paying limo prices and such.

Yeah there are some harsh feelings im management at former ASC resorts about that guy, I bet they're rolling in their cubicles about even being mentioned in the same article as him.
