Aspen Mountain, CO, Nov. 21, 2001-¿FIS Men's World Cup Director Gunther Hujara gave Aspen Mountain the full go ahead Wednesday morning for a pair of World Cup men's slaloms Sunday and Monday. Aspen Mountain crews had 25 snowguns on the race course beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, and were still going full-speed Wednesday morning.

"Things look confirmative," said Hujara from Aspen Mountain. "Snowmaking the last two nights have made such big progress that I was able to confirm the races for Sunday and Monday. We still need the coming nights but the forecast, which we've checked with two different (weather) services, says we should be on the lucky side. We will not have sunny weather but will have clouds and some snowfall, so we can fully confirm."

The men's World Cup slaloms at Aspen are set for Sunday, Nov. 25 and Monday, Nov. 26.
