Copper Blues Bar & Grill
Blue Mountain
(At the base of Blue Mountain's Silver Bullet chairlift in the Village at Blue)

Top off a ski day at Blue with a cruise down the Tranquility trail. But don't stop until you ski up to the front door of Copper Blues Bar & Grill. Copper Blues is the resort's prime après spot, and it is not to be missed. Overlooking the village events plaza and the center of the mountain, it's a primo place to kick back and enjoy the signature libation, the Coppertini or quaff a few locally brewed Creemore Springs Lagers.

Most nights, the smooth strains of live jazz fill the room and an eclectic blend of locals, lifties and visitors crowd around the circular fieldstone bar. The adjacent dining room, with its view into the open kitchen, is a bit less hectic but no less convivial.

Copper Blues is known for its extensive appetizer menu, served from 3:30 to 6 p.m. each day. Try the steamed mussels with roasted garlic, Caribbean Tiger shrimp cocktail with mild jerk sauce or the beef carpaccio slices garnished with shaved parmesan cheese. All are about $5.

With taste buds on alert, dive into the unique dinner entrees. Daring? Order the pork tenderloin diablo medallions in a roasted jalapeno and Anaheim pepper cream sauce ($15). Less so? Opt for a dish of New York striploin and Alaskan king crab ($25). But pace yourself: You have the pecan flan or the chocolate pà¢té awaiting you.
