Val Thorens, one of France's most popular ski resorts, launched a campaign against cigarette butts this season, arguing that the hundreds of thousands of spent coffin nails flicked into the snow are just not up to French aesthetic standards. The resort emphasized that the move isn't-mon dieu-an anti-smoking campaign, but rather an effort to convince patrons to tidy up the slopes.
