Name:  Jenny MacArthur

Age:     Old enough....

Height: 5’4”

Weight: 120

Home hill: Aspen Snowmass, CO

Day Job: Ski Schooler

What makes you qualified to test?: I’ve worked with all levels of skier from intermediates to Olympic hopefuls – I get to ski at all levels, all speeds and all terrain with skiers the full gamut from cliff dropping gung-ho all the way to timid green/blue skiers. Knowing what characteristics of a ski can support each individual can make or break their experience.

Skiing background: Started skiing at 4, skipped College to chase the Endless Winter from Austria back to Australia, Switzerland, Japan before settling in the Rocky Mountains! Former National Team Member and current PSIA Examiner.

Favorite type of terrain: All of it! If I could only pick one…. Well I can’t… so…. Off-piste pow, packed pow, trees, bumps – they all make me smile.

Ideal ski: something with a lot of versatility – depends entirely on the conditions – If I can only take one ski for everything? I’d pick something around 87mm underfoot for resort & side country skiing.

Favorite part of the Skiing mag ski test: Having the opportunity to spend a week with an amazing group of skiers at Snowbird.

Funniest story from ski test (any year)?: After a big night the Skiing Magazine Test’s finale dinner and party we woke up at 4:30am to head to a resort in Colorado for a work gig – so I punched in the resort name into my iPhone – Google Maps took us 400 miles out of the way to a ranch by the same name! We were so enjoying rehashing our favorite skis from the Test that we didn’t realize just how far off course we were and almost ran out of gas…. We never made it to the resort! It’s going to take a long time to live that one down.

What don't people know about the ski test?: It’s amazing fun and the crew from Skiing Magazine does a great job of pulling together 200 sets of skis, great ski techs and inspirational skiers.

Why should people trust the Skiing mag ski test?: The ability and diversity of the testers backgrounds ensures full coverage of ski styles and abilities.

Please translate the following phrase: Hafmeyjunum ekki skíði, þú kjánalegt manneskja!: Mermaids do not ski…. You silly person! - Icelandic

Of course aliens are present at the ski test! – Jurgenburgen language
