Few things in this world rival a bar stool and a cold, locally produced craft beer after a day on the slopes. If I had to pick a style to end the ski day, I’d have to go with the following: pilsner after bump skiing, IPA after powder days, stout after cold, dark days in the trees.
Since, it was mid-October, I didn’t get the chance to put in a few laps before the 2012 Great American Beer Festival. But while I cruised around the event sampling mountain-inspired craft beers and catching a pretty decent buzz, I got to meet plenty of festival goers who had similar feelings about pairing a day of skiing with a tasty microbrew. It seemed the whole place was filled with my kind of people: fun-loving, beer-drinking, slightly intoxicated skiers. Here’s what they had to say. Good times.
And check out last year's awesomeness here.
