Last winter, during an avalanche-probe search in Utah, rescuers skewered an elk carcass-and a bunny. So, how many other furry friends get caught in slides? A timeline: 1974: RED MOUNTAIN PASS, CO Two elk get buried up to their antlers. They dig themselves out; rescuers are overjoyed. 1996: JACKSON, WY Family car tumbles off highway in slide. Mom spots blood on daughter and starts sobbing before noticing dead, bloody deer around the car. 2002: KENAI NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, AK Huge slide kills 143 caribou. (Caribou is sooo stupid.)
