Giro Chapter
Dek:
A helmet that my mother and I can both agree on.

My mother loves helmets. Loves them. One of her proudest moment ever came when she was extolling a family friend on the importance of helmets in the lift line. He slipped getting on the chair, hit his un-helmeted head, and got a concussion. Score one for mom. And helmets.

Me, I’ve always struggled with them, even thought I shouldn’t. I know, I get it, my head has billions of dollars of education and orthodontia stuffed into it.

So, particularly because the mama will be in town for Thanksgiving, I’ve been working on finding a helmet I love. And I really just have a few simple requests: I would like to avoid looking like a lawn dart, and I would like to forget that I’m wearing it.

The Giro Chapter is currently leading the race. It fits snugly and is easy to adjust because of the inform fit system, and has multiple venting systems. To appeal to my vain side, it’s low profile and comes in a pretty but not too girly minty green. My mom would be proud.

Completely agree with your

Completely agree with your comments about helmets- it's hard to find one without looking like a "lawn dart" but it's obviously really improtant to protect your noggin! I just bought the Smith Allure and love it - it's lightweight, comfortable, and has a zipper in the ear flaps to put headphones-which is a great idea. Helmet covers are also a good way to get rid of that ugly helmet appearance...here's a link to a product called Helmet Huggers, which are some fashionable helmet covers for women. Helmet Huggers

Wow, there's a lot of spam on

Wow, there's a lot of spam on this site. Holy cow. How do we get rid of this junk? Anyway, good for you for going for a helmet. Cranial trauma is overrated. Plus they really help with the cold.
