Rocky Mountain Blackberry Whiskey
We’ve found our new favorite drink. It's from Denver-based Leopold Brothers—Rocky Mountain Blackberry Whiskey. The whiskey is a mash of corn, malted barley and malted wheat. Blackberries from the Rockies are blended with the whiskey and then it's aged in used bourbon barrels for eight months. The result is a complex and super-flavorful whiskey suitable for sipping, mixing, or shooting. Yea, it's a little fruity. But it's damn good and will get you tanked before seven p.m. so you get tons of sleep before tomorrows powder day.
Leopold Brothers is a family owned and operated small-batch distillery located in Denver that produces world-class liqueurs, whiskeys, vodka, rum, gin and absinthe. All of their products are handcrafted, hand-numbered, small batch spirits. [$34.99 for 750ml; leopoldbros.com]
