Grete Eliassen Breaks Record
When X Games medalist Grete Eliassen launched 31 feet into the air on a custom-built jump at Utah's The Canyons Resort last week, she broke the height record for a female skier. The Canyons' terrain park crew, with some help from Grete's sponsor Red Bull, shoveled, cut and shaped more than 45 thousand yards of snow to create the largest snow terrain park feature ever built in Utah. Grete got up to 60 miles per hour to hit the 30-foot hip jump.
“There is no other experience in the world that feels even close to what I feel when I am jumping," Grete said. "Having such a large feature built just for me was a super humbling experience. With my whole crew, family and friends watching it was really an incredible day. It is a moment in my life I will remember forever."
Here's a video of Grete going huge.
