Ski-related bumper stickers: Symbol of cool, or invitation for a speeding ticket?

Ask Dr. Flake

Without a doubt, bumper stickers are cool-unless they say "No Fear" or "Abercrombie Ski Team." In fact, we should all pay adhesive-decal homage to our favorite sport. Be proud that you have a prohibitively expensive obsession, and a car on which to flaunt it. As for the speeding-ticket question, no officer would ever enforce the law by profiling a so-called "type" of person or people. The fine men and women of our city police, county sheriff, and highway patrol issue citations strictly on a merit basis, treating all Americans equally. That is, unless you're a nonwhite, or a hippie-or if it's the end of the month and they need to meet their quotas.
