For 10 days last February, Hidden Valley was up for grabs online with the minimum acceptable offer set at $3.9 million. The resort's owner, Donald Begraft, hoped to take advantage of eBay's international reach and an auction fee that's downright miniscule compared to a realtor's commission. Though one bid did exceed the $3.9-million mark, it was later withdrawn, and Begraft subsequently switched to more traditional sales methods. At press time, Hidden Valley was still on the market.
