Aspen freeskiing champion Steele Spence got more than he bargained for when he won Australia's Rip Curl Freeski Pro comp this year: After the on-slope competition, the 19-year-old had to jump into a kiddie pool filled with Ansell personal lubricant (Australian for KY Jelly) as part of the sponsor's après-ski pub-wrestling gig.
Once immersed in the slop, in order to advance to the next round, he had to rip off the condom tied around his opponent's ankle-a feat involving lots of cold, greasy grappling. (Ansell also makes, you guessed it, condoms.) Spence managed to win the first round ("She was pretty cute"), but the young gun came off second best when pitted against female snowboarding instructor Annette Kiemel, 10 years his senior ("She was kinda burly").
"Yeah, she beat me, but that was okay because I couldn't really go on any longer," Spence says. "One of my friends signed me up for it. I told them I'd do it, but I wasn't going to wrestle any dudes."
