More than 70 percent of ACL injuries occur when skiers are in the backseat and the lower leg moves sideways and outward. Most bindings have two release points (lateral toe release, forward heel release), but the KneeBinding has a third—a patented lateral heel release—allowing it to let go when standard bindings will not.
