Augmented Reality Ski App

A new iPhone app lets skiers use their phone's video capacity to determine what lifts, chairs, and lodges are nearby. Fancy that.
posted: 12/09/2009 reported yesterday on a revolutionary new ski iPhone app created

by Resort Technology Partners (RTP) that uses Augmented Realty technology to help skiers find their way at North American ski resorts (including Killington, Copper Mountain, Deer Valley, Northstar-at-Tahoe and Stevens Pass, which were the first resorts to sign on). The RealSki app uses the video function show skiers their surroundings through the eyes of the app, which then tells the skier what runs or lifts are nearby, and other important locations like lodges, restaurants, bathrooms, or terrain parks. The initial version of the app is free, and a full version of the app should be available now on iTunes with maps for about 80 North American resorts. See video below for more details.
