Candide Thovex, 18, is one of a handful of hot skiers out of La Clusaz, a little-known ski area in France. A master of hurling himself off big kickers, he stuck a D-spin over a 120-foot gap in Utah last January. Candide is such a phenom in the pipe and park that Dynastar gave him a pro model. "He skis like a cat-always lands on his feet," says shooter Fred Foto. "Where other guys land on their heads half the time, Candide sticks it."
