The traditional to-do list is fraught with responsibility and onus. It's a bunch of stuff you have to do, like it or not. And when the list on your fridge is filled with things like "clean out kitty litter" and "fire incompetent new assistant," well, ticking off tasks provides a very small amount of satisfaction.
The Skier's List is a list of a whole different sort. It's a collection of things you, as a dedicated skier, should do before you die: Go heli-skiing, use duct tape, tune your mom's skis. Or know how to do, like make killer chili. Some of the items on the list are simply inevitabilities in a skier's life—say, taking a spectacular header right under the chair. They are less things to do than things that happen to you. But experiencing them somehow initiates you further into the fraternity of skiers.
One final word. This list is not the final word. It's meant to remind you of stuff you've done and inspire you to do things you haven't. Maybe you'll come up with a list of your own, a list filled with things you can't wait to do.
