Conceived by Rob Gaffney and Shane McConkey, Squaw Valley is currently holding a contest to determine what skier can win the game of GNAR (Gaffney's Numerical Assessment of Radness), which involves rowdy skiing, cliff hucking, and embarrassing acts (like skiing naked). Griffin Post gives us the first update on the contest.

It was a dramatic few days at Squaw Valley, but the big-mountain competition took place Tuesday on Silverado. The men's ski winner was Sweden's Henrik Windsted; the women's ski winner was Jackie Paaso, a Squaw local who got a wild card to compete at the event. After an aborted attempt to run the Freeride World Tour big-mountain competition on Squaw Valley's Tram Face on Sunday, blue skies and untouched snow mean the competitors are heading to Silverado today. Tucker is your typical golden retriever who likes to roll in the snow and chase balls. He and his owner, Pete York of the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol, also work together on avalanche rescue operations and will travel to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics to assist with security. By Olivia Dwyer
