Peter to the People:
Vail resort founder Peter "Pete" Seibert died of cancer in July 2002, but he gave explicit instructions to his surviving family: Turn me into cloud seed. Last winter he got his wish when, in a private ceremony, his ashes were launched via model rocket into an oncoming storm front. Neither his sons nor Vail resort will confirm or deny that the launch took place on the evening of March 17, before seven feet of Peter-err, powder-pummeled the mountains west of Denver.
