48 hours in Crested Butte
Where to Sleep
Photo: Crested Butte Mountain Resort

Drive or fly into Gunnison. From there, it’s a half-hour drive up to Crested Butte. When you get to town, head right to your hotel. To pamper yourself, stay at Elevation— ski valet, friendly bellmen, and coffee in the lobby make the price worth it. Your pooch is welcome, too. If you’re traveling on the cheap, bunk up in the hostel, starting at $25 a night. Make sure to get lots of rest, because skiing all day at Crested Butte is like giving yourself a beating. On purpose.
