I've found a little something in Pistil, Magic Hat Brewing Company's newly released spring seasonal. I can't quite put my finger on this Vermont brew, but it somehow tastes ethereal, like a mysterious entity is behind it. It must be the dandelion petals in the beer that give it that mystical flavor. Part sour, part crisp, all drinkable, Pistil attacks the palate with the brightness of spring. Grassy flavors and a decent hop bite pervade the beer. It's the kind of beer that demands a warm day and a barbeque. Thank goodness it's the proper time of year for warm days and barbeques. Bring on spring and all the gloriousness that accompanies the season. Pond skim anyone? I know a great beer.
