There are days. And then there are days like May 2, 2013. And I’m not saying that because, "well, there was a little bit of powder and the calendar said May.” Nope, Thursday was a no-bullshit, thigh-deep, blower powder day on the Front Range. Say what you want about the traffic, sketchy snowpack, wind, and all-around miserable weather of the Front Range. Sure, lately the Front Range has delivered more tears than powder days—at least till your tear ducts freeze—but when conditions line up, there’s no place I’d rather ski.
Naturally, a day like yesterday demands a cold, strong libation. A day like yesterday demands something like New Belgium’s Ranger IPA. Ranger is a heady brew. It’s got just the right amount of IPA bite while still remaining pretty darn crushable. It’s citrusy and delicious, kinda like pow turns in May. I suggest you try some. And in a somewhat related note, don't stop skiing. It’s just getting good out there. Booyah!
