Backcountry skiing might be what most people think of when they think Japan, but there is plenty of accessible resort skiing, too, and Fisher said that the night skiing was insane. “It’s pretty cool to ski deep powder at night” he said. They hit a local ski area, Taine, right outside of Sapporo which you can access by public transportation.
“Sapporo is a really cool town, it’s pretty big, but it has an urban scene with skiing right there,” Fisher said. “It’s easy to travel without a car.”
