First Woman to Ski the 14ers: Christy Mahon
El Diente

It was almost six years ago when Mahon began to seriously pursue this quest of skiing all the peaks. Up to that point she had hiked all the mountains and skied 27 of them, and she thought that the only option for her was to continue on. Since 2004, she steadily worked at her goal, and in the last calendar year alone she conquered a total of nine peaks. Her husband Ted, who accompanied her on the majority of the climbs, had achieved the feat in April of 2008. “It was always great: time away from the phone, TV, and socializing,” says Mahon about the hikes. “Quality time with great friends in quality places.”
