How to be a World-Traveling Snow Chaser
Snow Chasers
Photo: Courtesy Evans Parent

Evans Parent is roaming the streets of Innsbruck, Austria, wrapped in three jackets while trying to pick up a wireless connection. It’s the end of a another day cruising Europe in an RV, where he and three friends have found powder in the Dolomites and learned how to après in Austria.

It may sound like the trip of a lifetime, but he does it every year. Parent is one of the Snow Chasers, and each winter the telemarker quits his construction job to travel thousands of miles in search of the steep and deep, blogging along the way. His first winter, he lived out of a Subaru and chased turns in British Columbia, Utah, and Alaska. Now, Outdoor Research and Scarpa are two of his sponsors, and he’s gone global.
