How To: Summer Tuning
Step 1: Base Repair

Spring skiing has likely left your bases looking rough. Core shots and skis with multiple seasons of abuse are best taken care of with a professional stone-grind. Minor cuts and scrapes can be filled at home with P-Tex and made flush with the base using a metal scraper. If you aren’t equipped with a torch, look for P-Tex ribbon, which can be applied using your iron.
